If you’re thinking of buying a home in 2020, there are three things that you need to be doing right now to prepare:

1. Research home trends. We recommend checking out our website first. Here you can track homes directly from the MLS. You’ll also be able to find information about school districts, including test scores. We take pride in our website as a live feed with up-to-date statistics. You’ll see every home that’s listed on the market, not just the ones our agents have listed. All of this information will help you plan the timing of your purchase and become an educated buyer.

Finding the right agent is key to success.

2. Get pre-qualified and figure out your finances. It’s very important that you know your numbers and your credit score. All lenders are not the same, however. We recommend that you talk to at least a few different lenders so that you are aware of all of your options. A pre-qualification is a quick guide that will let you know how much you can afford. You should do this before looking at any home in person. We’d be happy to put you in contact with trusted lenders we’ve worked with in the past.

3. Find the right real estate agent. I truly believe that our team is better able to help someone find the right home because we have a small army working together instead of just one person trying to do everything. We talk about buyers’ needs as a team and work together to help find the perfect home. This gives you the biggest possible selection of homes. It also helps to have a trained negotiator working on your behalf when it comes to buying. Together, we can help negotiate the best deal for you because we have the necessary experience.

If you want to learn more about how we can help you with your home purchase, feel free to reach out and we’ll get you signed up for a free, no-obligation consultation. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
